The full terms
Who we are
Kinroot Labs LLC is a Georgia limited liability company. We make Strollywood, an app where parents keep their baby’s everyday care and first memories.
In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Kinroot Labs LLC. “You” means anyone who uses Strollywood or visits our website.
You can reach us at hello@kinrootlabs.com.
What these terms cover
These terms cover the Strollywood app on any phone, including test versions. They also cover our website, kinrootlabs.com.
We give you a personal right to use Strollywood and this website. Strollywood is for your own family, not for running a business such as a daycare. You can’t sell or pass on this right.
If you got the app from Apple’s app store, Apple’s standard license agreement sets the terms for using the app itself. “Getting Strollywood from Apple or Google” explains this.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we keep, why, and for how long.
Who can use Strollywood
Strollywood is made for parents and other adults who care for a child. Children shouldn’t create accounts or use Strollywood on their own. You add information about your child. Your child doesn’t use the app.
Your account
You sign in with an email address and a password. Use an email address you can reach. We send notices about your account to that address, or show them in the app.
We act on an email request about your account, such as deleting it, only after a reply from your sign-in address.
Each person has their own sign-in. Anyone in your family account can invite other adults who care for your child, such as a partner, a grandparent or another adult you trust. For now, everyone in your family can see and change everything, so invite only adults you trust with everything. Choosing what each person can see and change is coming in an update. Everyone in a family account must follow these terms.
Never share your password, even with family. Anyone who knows it can see and change what you can. Use a password you don’t use anywhere else.
We will never ask you to share your password or a code we emailed you. If you think someone who shouldn’t have your password knows it, act right away. Email support@kinrootlabs.com from your sign-in address so we can help.
Your records and photos
Your records, photos and videos belong to you. That includes your child’s profile, care and health notes, growth, photos, videos, milestones and memories. These terms don’t give us ownership of anything you add.
To run Strollywood, we need your permission to handle them. So you give us a limited permission to store, copy, sync and back up your records, photos and videos. It also lets us show them to the people your family shares them with. Our service providers do some of this work for us. We use this permission only to run Strollywood for your family, and as our Privacy Policy describes.
We open a family’s records only when the family asks us for help, when we need to fix a problem or keep Strollywood secure, or when the law requires it. We don’t sell your records, photos or videos, and we don’t use them for ads.
This permission ends when your records, photos and videos are deleted from Strollywood, on their own or with your family account. It still covers the copies we keep for a limited time afterward, such as backup copies, which expire on their normal cycle. “How long we keep things” in the Privacy Policy lists each kind of copy and when it is deleted.
Please add only photos, videos and words you have the right to use, such as photos and videos you or your family took.
Not medical advice
We’re here to support you, but we’re not doctors, and we don’t give medical advice. For health questions, please talk with your child’s doctor. In an emergency, call 911.
Strollywood keeps the records you enter. It isn’t a medical device, and it doesn’t diagnose or treat anything. It shows what you logged, not whether something is normal. It doesn’t tell you when to give medicine or how much.
An entry made without a signal reaches other phones only once each phone is online with Strollywood open. So before you give a dose of medicine, check with the other caregivers too, not only the app.
Using Strollywood fairly
Please don’t:
- use Strollywood or this website to break the law, or to store anything illegal;
- try to get into another family’s account, or into our systems beyond what the app lets you do;
- copy, change or take apart the app’s code, except where the law or an open-source license lets you;
- use bots or other automated tools to collect information from Strollywood;
- overload Strollywood with requests, or send it anything harmful, such as a virus.
We welcome security reports made in good faith. If you find a security problem, email security@kinrootlabs.com with what you found and the steps to see it. Don’t look at, change or keep other people’s information. Please give us time to fix the problem before you tell anyone else.
Price
Strollywood is free while we test it.
Before anything is charged, we’ll update these terms and tell you. Nothing is charged unless you choose to buy. We don’t sell anything on this website.
Getting Strollywood from Apple or Google
From Apple’s app store. Apple’s standard license agreement for apps sets the terms of your right to use the Strollywood app. These terms add the rules for the Strollywood service, such as your account and your records. If the two disagree about the app itself, Apple’s agreement applies.
From Google’s app store. Your right to use the app comes from these terms, as “What these terms cover” explains.
Either way, Apple and Google aren’t responsible for Strollywood, and they don’t provide help with it. For help, write to support@kinrootlabs.com. Their own terms cover downloads, payments and refunds through their stores.
Test versions
While Strollywood is in testing, you may use an early version. Test versions change often, and they can have bugs. A test version may stop working after a while, and we may end a test. Ending a test doesn’t delete your records.
If you test through Apple’s or Google’s test program, that company’s own terms for the program also apply.
Changes to Strollywood and to these terms
We keep working on Strollywood, so features will change.
When we change these terms, we post the new version on this page with a new date. We’ll tell you about an important change ahead of time, by email or in the app. Changes that only make the wording clearer, or that the law requires, can apply as soon as we post them.
If you keep using Strollywood after a new version applies, it applies to you. If you don’t agree with it, you can delete your account before then. A change doesn’t apply to a dispute that started before it. A change to these terms doesn’t let us use records, photos and videos you already added in a new way without asking you first.
Earlier versions stay listed at the end of this page.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings, then Delete account. This is the fastest way.
If you can’t use the app, email privacy@kinrootlabs.com from your sign-in address. We reply to that address to check the request came from you. Please answer our email. Then we delete the account and its data the same way the app does, and reply when it’s done. If you no longer use that email address, sign in to the app and delete the account there.
Deleting your account removes your sign-in and your access to your family’s records. If you’re the last parent in your family, your family’s records, child profile, photos and videos are deleted too, for everyone still in it. Otherwise, the entries you added stay with your family’s records. Photos and videos you saved to your phone’s own photo library stay there.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or Strollywood at risk. We may also do so when the law requires it. When it’s safe and lawful, we’ll tell you first and explain why. After that, we delete the account as the Privacy Policy describes.
When your account ends, these terms stop applying to it. A few parts keep applying, such as the limits of liability and how disputes are handled.
If we stop offering Strollywood
If we ever decide to stop offering Strollywood, we’ll tell you ahead of time, by email or in the app.
If something outside our control forces a sudden stop, we’ll give you as much notice as we can.
Disclaimers and limits of liability
We can’t promise that Strollywood or this website will always be available or free of mistakes, or that nothing will ever be lost. Keep your own copy of any photo or video that matters to you, for example in your phone’s photo library.
To the extent the law allows:
- Strollywood and this website are provided “as is”. We make no promises about them beyond what these terms and our Privacy Policy say.
- We aren’t responsible for indirect losses, or for losses we couldn’t have expected.
- Our total responsibility for any claim about Strollywood or this website is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
These limits don’t cover harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence.
Disputes and governing law
If something goes wrong, please write to us first at hello@kinrootlabs.com and tell us what happened. We’ll try to work it out with you before either of us takes it further.
The laws of the State of Georgia, USA, govern these terms. Rules that would point to another state’s laws don’t apply. Nothing here takes away rights that your own state’s consumer laws give you and that can’t be waived.
Our names and our app
Strollywood is a trademark of Kinroot Labs LLC. These terms don’t give you the right to use our names or logos.
Apart from what you add, the Strollywood app, its design and this website belong to Kinroot Labs LLC. A few parts belong to others who license them to us. Open-source software in the app comes with its own licenses.
A few more points
- These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Strollywood and this website. If you got Strollywood from Apple’s app store, Apple’s standard license agreement applies too.
- If a court decides part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a rule right away, we can still enforce it later.
- You can’t transfer your account or these terms to someone else. If Kinroot Labs is ever sold or merges with another company, these terms may pass to the new owner. We’ll tell you first, so you can delete your account or your family’s records if you want to.
